For me this course was very beneficial. It really pushed me to think about skills, my barriers and how I can break them down to reach my professional goals. The structure of the course is simple and easy to follow, the videos are informative and there was always support from the Facebook group to complete the exercises. The course leaders share not just text book definitions, but give real life examples and share their experiences as well, what gives a personal touch to the topics every week. My 6-12 month plan is now ready and I can’t wait to start working on it and tick all the tasks off my to do list. I would recommend this course to everyone who is thinking about applying for a new position, who doesn’t know what his/her next career step should be or someone who is coming back to work after a career break

I am at a crossroads in my career. I have been a contract Project Manager for a number of years and am soon to finish my current contract. I had always decided this was to be my last contract as I want to step back, spend more time with my family and friends but also consider doing something completely different. It has come sooner than expected but then at the same time came the Career Boost course.
The Career Boost course has been an eye opener for me, I had never considered a Personal Brand and what that means or had any idea around my limiting beliefs. These were to key takeaways for me especially as I move into a completely different stage in my life. Visualising my limiting beliefs, recognising when they come up and having a visual reminder of how I deal with them was inspiring …My drawings are up on the wall to remind me what they are and how I can tackle them.
As I move into the new stage of my life I expect my personal brand to change. I will actively consider how it needs to be shaped to support my future ventures and also seek out feedback to ensure I’m not making assumptions.
I have never really thought about connections at work and who I spend time with, I just do it! But I’ve realised over the years especially as a contractor how my career has progressed through my connections who have put me forward for new roles. Again going forward my connections will change depending on my venture but the career boost course has made me realise how important they will be and not to make assumptions again around them. Networking will be key for me and again it’s taken the career boost course to bring this to the forefront of my thinking.
Kelly and Rachel are very good sounding boards…sometimes just talking to someone unifies things – they don’t have to say something incisive just bouncing off them brings it to light. Having said that they are also willing to listen and help you move forward if you hit a road block in your thinking – they don’t give you the answer but help you to focus your thinking or help direct you to widen your thinking.
For me the course has given me a lot of thinking for my future and I will return to this and review how I am progressing.
I think it’s a course that would help a wide variety of people
• those who have been out of work and are looking to return,
• those who are looking for a career change and not sure how to move it forward,
• those who are looking for career advancement and want to boost their opportunities,
• those running their own business and wanting to understand how they can influence that through their own actions etc
Concerned that it’s not for you?? Take the leap of faith you will learn more than you might expect or even thought about, I’m so glad I did!

I found Careers Boost really interesting and insightful. It encouraged my to self-reflect a lot & consider what I want from my career, as well as how others perceive me in the workplace. It gave me ideas about how to progress my career and success through small day-to-day changes. Kelly and Rachel were lovely approachable course leaders who created a really nice space and community to share ideas.

Kelly and Rachel were fantastic course leaders. Their personable approach and the variety of activities, from noting thoughts and feelings to drawing and seeking external feedback, kept the content engaging and impactful. I particularly enjoyed the ‘limiting beliefs’ week. Despite being familiar with the topic, the unique activities gave me a fresh perspective.
I completed the course whilst on a development programme in my current role and it was the perfect supplement. It encouraged me to challenge thoughts and feelings, identify and tackle my limiting beliefs and helped to shape my longer term career plan.
The style and ease of the course made it much easier to fit around work and life commitments, and the weekly content was really easy to follow. I appreciated the flexibility of the course, which allowed me to catch up at my own pace without feeling under extra pressure. The videos added a personal touch to the course too.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking to overcome personal barriers and achieve their career goals, whilst fitting in around family and work life.
